Nintendo DSi out this Friday – Are you getting it?

Nintendo DSi - out this Friday in the UK

The next iteration of Nintnedo’s DS handheld console is out in the UK on Friday (that’s April 3rd to the lay man).

As you’ve probably read the machine offers a handful of cosmetic improvements; bigger screen, better speakers, SD Card support etc. whilst also giving users the new DSi Ware online store and a new OS built into the console. The machine is available to pre-order from all the usual gaming outlets, with HMV probably offering the best deal at £147 with a free 1gb SD card.

Whilst we UK gamers get the machine a couple of days earlier than our American cousins we don’t get the same ultra cool sounding midnight launch events that are happening, as reported on Kotaku.

Will you be getting the DSi at launch this Friday?

  • No, I'm going to wait to see how much DSi only stuff comes out (100%, 2 Votes)
  • HELL YEAH - I loves me some Nintendo (0%, 0 Votes)
  • Probably - I'm 90% sure (0%, 0 Votes)
  • Maybe, maybe not (0%, 0 Votes)
  • What's Nintendo? (0%, 0 Votes)

Episode 38 of TGP is live – The Post GDC Show

That Gaming Podcast ArtGDC has come and gone and lots of interesting announcements were made. We’ll take a look at the best of those. Plus a round-up of the games we’ve been playing and an interesting discussion about Nintendo’s evergreen sofware range and why the rest of the industry should also be trying to get in on that.

Come on Capcom, give us the Wii-make of the Resi Game we really want

So Capcom have announced a bunch of new (old) Resident Evil games coming to Wii, these include a new on-rails shooter called Resident Evil: Dark Chronicles (the sequel to last years Umbrella Chronicles) and 2 remakes; the original Resident Evil and the prequel, Resident Evil Zero. Both games will be the same as the Gamecube remakes, but with Wii controls.

Whilst I’m quite intrigued with the thought of revisiting the Spencer Mansion once again we all know that the game that everyone wants Capcom to remake for Wii is Resident Evil 2. I’d be infinitely more excited about tackling the multiple stories in Resi 2 in glorious Wii-o-Vision and it would be for me (and I suspect a lot of other resi fans) a day one must buy.

Resident Evil 2 was without doubt the best of the original trilogy and whilst  the new game, Dark Chronicles will be set in Racoon City and the main characters being Leon and Claire, an on-rails ‘light-gun-with-a-wii-remote-instead’ game is NOT what we’re looking for.

Capcom – we have spoken. Heed our words (please).

Word!
